Pollen Count Expected to be High Today
Posted 26 August 2008
Forecasters say allergy-suffers be
aware! High pollen is forecast for today, Tuesday, Aug. 26, and the
next few days in Iowa.
The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology say allergies
- also known as hay fever - affect more than 35 million people.
With expected high pollen in the air, people with any sensitivity will
experience symptoms, such as itchy red eyes, sneezing and a runny nose.
Ragweed and nettle are the pollens being released into the air
right now and are responsible for most late summer and fall hay fever
in the Midwest.
