Donations Help Main Street Elkader to Recover
Posted 25 August 2008
Elkader is one of five cities in
the state that will benefit from a new Main Street Iowa program. The
National Trust for Historic Preservation has set up a website to
collect donations to help flood impacted Main Street Iowa towns.
According to the Main Street Iowa Program, many of the communities have
flood damaged historical landmarks that had been renovated and now need
additional attention.
The Iowa communities to be helped through this program are Burlington,
Charles City, Elkader, Waterloo and Waverly.
