Edwards Cancels Visit to Iowa Posted 15 August 2008 ­Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards has canceled his appearance at a September conference in Iowa. Edwards had been scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a Solutions to Poverty Conference organized by Iowa's First Lady Mari Culver in Des Moines on Sept. 16. Edwards has been in the national spotlight recently after he admitted he had an affair with a filmmaker working on his campaign.
