Dense Fog Advisory this Morning
Posted 13 August 2008
The National Weather Service in the
Quad Cities has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m. this morning,
Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The Advisory includes Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jones and Linn
counties in East Central Iowa.
Dense fog with visibilities of a quarter of a mile or less will
continue to develop early this morning. Patchy clouds over Eastern Iowa
and Northeast Missouri will create highly variable conditions in the
Advisory area. The clouds may cause visibilities at any one location to
vary from near zero to several miles in a short period of time.
Visibilities are expected to improve as the fog lifts around mid
morning.
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to
less than one quarter mile. If driving, motorist are urged to slow
down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
