Motorist Strikes, Injures Bicyclist
Posted 5 August 2008
The Fayette County Sheriff's
Office received a report Saturday morning, Aug. 2, of a hit and run
accident involving a bicyclist.
Authorities say Phyllis Holt, 84 of Winthrop, was eastbound on Highway
3, just east of Highway 187, when she hit a bicyclist with her
vehicle's mirror. The bicyclist was stopped along the roadway and
Holt didn't see him. She had returned to the scene by the time deputies
arrived.
Holt was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian. The bicyclist,
Lian (Ken) Runxiong, 20 of China, was transported to Regional Medical
Center in Manchester for minor elbow injuries.
