Posted 3 July 2008
An old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration, sponsored by the Aurora
Community Club, will be held in the Aurora Park, tomorrow, Friday, July

The annual event includes a parade, home-cooked food and barbecue, as
well as "Northeast Iowa's largest fireworks."
A truck and tractor pull begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. The flag
raising ceremony is at 11 a.m. at the park. After the parade, there
will be a volleyball tournament.
There will be many games for kids, including rides which are owned by
the Aurora Community Club. A basketball shootout contest for ages 8 to
14 is at 3 p.m.
Live music will be provided by "3rd Offense" from 2 to 4 p.m. and the
"Swampkats" from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tickets for prizes in the drawing, which will be held at 8 p.m., will
be given at the gate where a freewill offering will be taken. Ticket
holders must be present to win a prize.
The fireworks will begin at dusk. Everyone is invited to attend.
