Oelwein plans July 4 Celebration Posted 1 July 2008 The Fourth of July promises to again be a big celebration for Oelwein. The holiday parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Activities in City Park include Kids Games, petting zoo, pony rides, Flush Tank, horse-hitch rides, kiddie tractor pull, food vendors, Derby Duck Race, Flea Market and the 6th Annual Car Show. Main Stage Entertainment includes the crowning of Miss Oelwein, introduction of Miss and Master Firecrackers with essay reading, Mr. Nick balloons, Tuxedo Junction Band and Country Roads Band. View Northeast Iowa's biggest Fireworks Display over Lake Oelwein at dusk!
